Great article, Billy. One of the things I miss most about BC is the unwavering patriotism. Here in Albany, you don't see the support as openly. You are right though, there will be a lot of people that will join our side because they can't think for themselves. We have to help educate them and you're doing your part. Keep up the good work.

Hi to you all back there, from sunny Los Angeles, Calif. where I have lived since Oct. 1965. This is a wonderful web page and I am so very thrilled to have found it. My dear friend Joan Rafferty (living in Florida)gave me the e-mail address just this week. I have been back to Broad Channel many times over the many years, to visit my "roots". We (the Schlaepfers)lived at 30 west 11th road. My grandmother, Mrs. May Clavin lived on 9th road next to "the Miners". I had Clavin cousins who lived on Cross Bay Blvd. Thanks to whoever created this web page, it is wonderful.

Hi Everyone The reunion and now the reunion pictures were fantastic. Glad I got to see so many people haven't seen in years. Living in Florida will make it easy to get to next year. Spent some quality time with Allan & Pat on their stay here. Loved it all. Fran Gill next year for sure. Brother Billy hug her for me. Great having old friends and memories as close as this website. Hello, my name is Stephanie. I 've lived in Broad Channel all my life, and my family had been here for many generations. I just wanted to say for everybody bad mouthing Broad Channel, why do you believe them? Come here to our little island and see for yourself how wonderful we are. Broad Channel has always been very Patriotic even before Sept. 11. I think every house has an American flag waving proudly. Also every tree on our island has a yellow ribbon for our soldiers to return safely. Another great thing about Broad Channel is if you are 8 years old; you could go up and play in the park by yourself with friends! Thats how safe it is. You really don't have to worry about kidnappers or anything like that. Also Broad Channel has a lot of adults who care, there are many organizations all about the kids, such as the Broad Channel Athletic club, the beautification committee, the theatre group. and maybe you should come down and see our park one nice day, millions of kids! And nobody's fighting, everybody's playing together, if all the the basketball courts are taken , thats ok, they'll share, the kids will have a game against each other. I am 13 years old and I have to say I'd rather live in BC then anywhere else, everybody and everything is great here its perfect. we also have the bay which is great for all seasons. in the summer you can go hydrosliding,wakeboarding,water sking,swimming,and boating. and in the winter the bay freezes and you can go ice - skating! Broad Channel is great, and if you don't believe me, check it out for your self! Also keep in mind I'm one of the children in Broad Channel, so this is a child's opinion, and I think this has to be a heck of an island if the kids love so much!
