Channel chat is almost a year old. the community calender is still in December 2003. The only thing of interest on this site seems to be the guestbook. There is always last years St. Pat's Photos.

Perhaps those recently critical of this fantastic website might want to volunteer to help our dedicated webmaster, Dave!! He gets a helluva lot done here, all on his own. Ask what you can do to help him get your much sought after updates, pics, etc., instead of complaining. This is a labor of love for David Arnemann, not his job. I for one salute him. Bill Schilling

HI Here is some BCAC Jamaica Bay Little League news!! Opening Day parade is set for Sat May 8th 10am kickoff at 17th rd park commencing at Memorial Field. Following ceremonies the first games of the 2004 season will be played. This year we have ( 20 ) in house teams, ( 3 ) Girls traveling CYO softball teams and ( 1 ) 13-14 traveling boys baseball team. We are always looking for help with the huge anount of work needed to be done in order to get ready for the season. We are looking for a person who is retired and would like to help out the league during the season. Someone who would like to spend a few hours during the week helping to keep the field in good shape. If anyone would like to help out come down to the field any Sat. PS Dave I think you do a great job I know how hard it is to update the website, we have a website www.broadchannelac.com and I could spend hours and hours a week updating it. Keep up the great community work Dave, many people appreciate it. Marty Feeney

Question?? Reportedly, there was a brief mention of Broad Channel's real estate boom in a recent edition of the Wall Street Street Journal. Can anybody steer me to the story? We were referenced in connection with real valuations, mortgages, etc. Should be interesting reading. Many of us wonder how long our island paradise will remain as such, considering the disdain some of our citizens (leaders?) have for BC's values, as shown by their selling and renting practices.

I was reading the guestbook for the BCAC, and it said that:
"The Broad Channel Athletic Club recently lost a dear friend. Vito....he was only known to me as Vito....I never needed to know his last name. Vito was a wonderful man! He treated all our children with a friendly respect no matter what their age. He let them have lunch in his place, even if they forgot their lunch money. He was a blessing for many moms, we all knew our children wouldn't go hungry because of him. He was so generous to our children and to our club, he will be greatly missed & never replaced!!!!"
Was that Vito from Tommy's Pizza? and were did he go to be missed? Did he pass away? Please tell me what happened! Thanks

Just checking in to let you know I've made a few minor updates... The GuestBook is now back in order with the missing months available again.

Also the old St. Patrick's Day photos are back online.

I apologize for not keeping up with the site.  I do have a regular job and finding time is difficult these days.  I'm doing the best I can and refuse to let this site go under! ;)

I also appreciate all the positive (and negative) feedbacks.  They're a big help for coming up with new ideas for the site... I have many new ideas to implement soon!! (including a facelift for the site) ....

Also, in the near future, I will be accepting ideas for individuals who would like to manage their own portions of this site.  Complete with your own login accounts.  It can be anything from columns, to school postings, organizational calendars, you name it.

Email me with any ideas and we'll try and get things going.  This should lighten some of my workload.

I would like to thank Billy Murray, Tomasina Ogden,Liz Boyle, and Pat Hanning for all the time they put into the "Yester Year Cafe". It brought back many memories of the St.Patty's Day Show's. Some of which my mom, Peggy Howard, organized. I will never forget at the young age of 14 practicing with some of the towns most talented. Some of the names I practiced with were: Kegs Nelson, Rita Lincoln, Mr. Heaphy, The Wax R Back, Diane & Doris, Carol Ernst, and all those talented dances from Tomasina's Dance School. The production of the Yester Year Cafe brought back many good memories for many of our towns people. We also made new memories for many others. I can't wait for next years show. Billy, You can count on the Shirelles to cancel there bookings to come back to Good Ole Broad Channel!! Anyone who would like to see this years show or a few of our past shows. You can borrow the tape at the Broad Channel Library.
