Hello I just heard that the BCAC will dedicate the 2004 Shamrock Football and Cheerleading season in honor of Mr. Willie Wiese. What a great decision to honor Mr. Wiese, Willy as many called him was a great man and coached many of us when we were young. Willy was all about teaching and the man never had a bad word to say about anyone. He was a dedicated BCAC member and a great family man. If not for Willy a lot of guys would not have grown up to be the great people they are today. Congratulations to the BCAC for honoring such a great man!!! I cannot think of anyone who deserves more!!!!!! Marty Feeney

Broad Channel Residents do it again.... The Mardi Gras was a huge success!!! Thanks to the hard work of all the committees. Most Popular Dogs raised the most money $36,000.00 thanks to the hard work of Pat & Lilly!! Duffy's came in second with $18,000.00 thanks to the raisins, Grassy's was right behind with $17,000.00. Most popular baby was won by Hunter Blake and Most popular block was won by 8th road!! Thanks to BCVFD President Eddie O'Hare and Treasurer Ruth Trudden and all the BCVFD for puttin together a great Mardi Gras!! It is a lot of work and you guys did a wonderfult job. One step closer to a New Fire House in BC!!!!!

Broad Channel is home to one very special lady!  Joyce Ritter of Noel Road.  A mom of two fantastic girls, teacher of math, a truly great American and one of my favorite people in the whole world.  I'm a better person having known her and having her in my life.  She grew up in B.C., introduced the fine community of B.C. to me and as an adult, chose B.C. to be her home and home to her family.   She could have lived anywhere in the world and chose to stay...Wow..  I've been told thats a recurring theme among native B.C.'rs. How many towns can say that?  Not many.  If you happen to see her on the street in at the local store, be sure to say hi for me...  I'm a long time away, a distance too far to be remembered.

hi just read in my local news paper that Freddie Roesch passed away many may remember him from 11th road.turns out he has been living upstate about 20 mins from my town for 20 years small world.all the more reason that whenever you think of someone whom you haven`t seen or heard from in a long while look them up and say hi.With this internet thing it`s very easy to do.

Great picture on the cover of O'Sullivan's Soda Counter filled w young faces from 1941, month of July has a great picture of the Sea Scouts from 1964 and I can name them all! The toy's for Tot's at the American Legion on October 02, 2004 was cancelled. Lack of advanced sales. This was a great idea by Jack & Rita and I hope we can try this again.
