Dave, your site is looking magnificent. I understand how much work it is to create a site plus with updates. Keep up the great work.
I have links to your sites at www.broadchannel1.com My site generated $8 in sales with affiliate programs. Were on our way. Good Luck. Anyone have idea’s, (Recipe page etc.) let Dave know.

I think the website is a great way for everyone to stay in touch with what is going on in the neighborhood. It was especially helpful to my parents who moved down to Florida and wanted info on the Florida Keys reunion.

Wondering where your teammates are from the old football days, or those gorgeous girls that cheered you to victory. Well, they are probably coaching their own kids now. Check out the Broad Channel Athletic Club Website at www.eteamz.com. Make sure you sign the guestbook so all your fans can keep in touch with you. Congratulations to the BCAC Shamrocks Ponies Division 11 & 12 year olds for winning the Nassau Suffolk Football League Championship! The team was coached by Brian McMahon,John Hanning,Phil D'Agostino and John Cunningham GREAT GAME!!! WAY TO GO GREEN!!!!

I found this poem about Broad Channel when I moved into a house on Channel Rd. I was 9 years old then, and that was many years ago. I no longer live in the Channel, but saved the poem, and I would like to share it with you.
BROAD CHANNEL
A handful of earth, and God tossed it
Right here in the heart of the bay.
And whitecaps caressed it and kissed it
And seagulls came winging to play.
Long years it was barren, neglected,
Then God threw a shower of seeds.
And grasses leaped out of its bosom
And studding its shoreline were reeds.
Came Spring of a year now forgotten.
And fishermen fighting a tide.
Were driven to one of these beaches
And found it a place to abide.
Returning that Summer with lumber.
Each man built his own little home:
And here was a place to be happy.
An Isle where a freeman could roam.
And then came the builders in masses,
And Good the Creator smiled down:
For that which began as a sandbar
Had grown to a smart little town.
Now railroads and bridges connect it
With mainlands where commerce holds sway:
The worker goes forth to his labors.
Returns to his home in the bay.
These dwellers are hardy, courageous:
From hardships they never take flight:
Let come what the Fates care to send them.
United, they’ll stand up and fight.
Yet hardness is not in their natures:
No spot where the sun shines to-day
Can equal this game little island
In matters pertaining to play.
In boating and fishing and swimming
And sports in their seasons as well.
In dining and dancing and laughter
The folks of Broad Channel excel.
“See Rome and live”, say the sages.
But heed the advice that I give:
Don’t go there to Europe and perish.
But come to Broad Channel and live.

If you're looking for the reunion page, just click HERE
I am currently working on an "UPDATE" page. I have received quite a bit of new info regarding the REUNION and GROUP RATES on lodgings nearby.

WE LIVED AT THE END OF 16TH ROAD.

I've been living in Albany for over 20 years now, but Broad Channel is where my heart is. That reunion in Florida sounds great. After my parents moved to Key Largo in 1987, my wife Kathy and I would always stop at Snappers. Since Mom died in '93 and Dad in '95, we don't get to the keys anymore. The St. Paddy's party sounds like a lot of fun.
All my BC relatives are gone as well. I do miss the Channel, though!!!

Great site, it sure brings back old memories back in the channel. We are living in Glendale (in Phoenix a
rea) but still have Jerry's sister Brenda living there, so we hear all the news, along with subscribing to the Wave.
Keep up the good work on the website, we really enjoy it.

This is a great web site. I moved to Tampa, Florida from the Channel in 1972. I never get back, so it's nice to get some news. Keep up the good work.
Anybody who remembers me and would like to say hello, send an e-mail. I'll return the message.
That includes cousin Bobby Steiner's son Bob, cousin Joan (Ruddick) Minihane and any other relatives and friends, whether or not you still live in the Channel.

Joey & Kris Wormold made there reservations for the 2003 BC Reunion. We moved to Cumming, Georgia in 94 so it's been that long since we have seen most of our friends. Bob & Sue Maier told us about this site, sure has made us homesick! We live 12 hours away so we're driving. See y'all soon, Safe travels.

After sitting in the rain in '76-'77 watching the Bucs get hammered week after week, sitting in very expensive season ticket seats for 10 losing seasons, then watching them loose the NFC Championship by 2 field goals in '79 (I was at the game), then watching them loose the NFC Championship by bad officiating in '99, then hearing the sports announcing world tell me that the defense (best stats in BOTH conferences) wasn't as good as their stats, then having them tell me that we would loose to the Oakland offense that was the best in football with Gannon(after we stuffed Donavan McNab, Michael Vick, Curt Warner, Garcia, etc.), then hearing Phil Simms tell the world that Brad Johnson (who has the best quarterback ratings in the NFL, beat the Falcons but was passed up for the Pro Bowl which took Vick) looked confused on when he takes the field, REVENGE IS TRULY SWEET!!!! CHUCKY RULES!!!
